In AUTO/SP, the X-T30 II selects from a variety of scene-dependent options to do the hard work for you – it truly is a camera for everybody. Ideal for portrait photography under carefully controlled lighting, the neutral tonality lends itself well to post-processing. If you have a little more cash to play with – and don’t mind going a little bigger – it makes sense to plump for the X-S10, but otherwise, there’s a lot to like here. It’s also a little awkwardly placed if you’re using a tripod – you’ll find it behind the same door as the battery, next to the tripod thread, rather than behind a separate door on the side of the camera.Fujifilm has earned a lot of fans for the way its cameras handle color, and as we’d expect, you get beautifully rich tones and vibrancy. On a more practical front, utilise a burst of stills up to 30fps (Electronic Shutter), or push the limits of low light with a native sensitivity range of ISO 160-12,800. There’s just one memory card slot, which is to be expected on a mid-range camera like the Fujifilm X-T30 II. We wouldn't recommend it for astro shooting as it does struggle somewhat in low light, and unless you memorize which dial is which, they are impossible to see in the dark. Sadly, Fujifilm hasn’t seen fit to move this for the Mark II version, which is a bit of a mystery considering the number of reviews that complained about it.
